Cadbury P.S. has created seriously cute e-cards for Valentine’s

You might have noticed that the Valentine’s is coming up, even if just by the sheer bombardment of red, white and pink that has flooded stores. Cadbury P.S has come up with a more fun and creative way to celebrate the month of love, teaming up with three local designers to create a series of quirky e-cards that you can send to your bestie or crush.

How does it work? Purchase one of the limited edition Cadbury PS bars with either “Be my Bae”, Big Hugs”, “You’re awesome” and I♥U”
messaging, scan the QR code and choose one of the graphics supplied to #SayItWithPS.

Aside from sending out a fun message, you can also enter to win one of four experiences:

  • Be my Bae: 2 x Apple iPhone X’s with cellphone accessories
  • Big Hugs: A makeover and shopping spree for two
  • You’re Awesome: Customised party experience
  • I♥U: A spa weekend away and a hot air balloon ride for two

Cadbury PS has teamed up with young designers Shaun Oakley, Kurt Daley and Annika Brandow for the campaign.

Shaun brings a lot of Graffiti inspiration into his pieces to create these really cool, edgy pieces that have a unique South African signature to them. For this campaign he worked with pleasing pastel colours while still retaining his urban style.

Kurt’s work is super fun, bright and eccentric. He aimed to capture the themes in a visual way. “Each message has a feeling to it or if the message was in a particular language, that language would have a particular culture link to it, eg. Zulu culture, which I would try to incorporate into my design,” he explained. “I usually use a lot of hand drawn elements, bold colours and varied typographic styles in my illustration work. I think this style has been trending for a while now and will most likely continue for a long time.”

Annika is a freelance illustrator from Cape Town and her work captures a really fun, young energy, pulling ideas from pop culture, music and social media. “I was inspired by the 90’s comeback so I was really happy to work with super bright colours and create some fun illustrations,” she explains about her designs for the campaign.
