Pichulik is one of my favourite local brands, known for their bold, striking jewellery pieces and causing a lot of talk with their recently launched fashion line. Now the brand has announced an exciting partnership with furniture retailer Weylandts that allows you to shop bespoke pieces from the capsule collection countrywide.
“When approached, we looked to Weylandts’ design DNA and their use of metallics, contemporary African lines and textures that are evocative of the Southern African landscape, and incorporated these elements into our designs through the use of bold silhouettes and beadwork accents,” says, PICHULIK’s Katherine-Mary Pichulik.
While it may seem an odd partnership, Weylandts has been stocking the TM Collection, Teresa Martins’ fashion label, since 2013 and the neutral tones and natural elements of PICHULIK’s six neckpieces and five bracelets are actually a perfect fit with these understated garments.
If you’re a fan of the brand you’ll notice that this new palette veers away from PICHULIK’s signature bright colours, but it is in line with the Harvest range that they have just launched for summer. And while the colours are softer, the sense of drama remains.
You’ll be able to shop those typically bold Pichulik pieces, and if you’re not that into statement jewellery you’ll be happy to hear that they’ve also included a few more delicate items. There is also jewellery that can be customised to be worn either as a high-collar choker or as a long pendant.
The PICHULIK Capsule Collection is currently available from Weylandts Green Point and is set to launch in Gauteng in the next few months. Each piece will be exclusively made to order and can be viewed on the Weylandts website or in the Green Point store.
