The annual Robertson Wine Valley’s Slow Food & Wine Festival is taking place from 4 – 6 August 2017, allowing you to experience the magic of the valley during winter time.
This festival shows off the local wines and cuisine in a more intimate setting. Warm up in front of the fire while you sip a glass of red wine and taste a variety of dishes. Enjoy diverse food traditions from vetkoek, curries and waterblommetjie soup to seafood paella, Chinese duck and ostrich and kudu inspired dishes, offered across fine dining, gourmet meals, farm style platters and picnics.
The Slow Food & Wine Festival aims to give you an authentic, interactive experience. You can explore the wine farms through underground cellar tours, game drives, horse rides or boat cruises. Join in cooking classes or winemaker’s dinners. Try single vineyard and vertical tastings, brandy pairings or tutored Méthode Cap Classique master classes.
Most importantly, you’ll get to interact with winemakers and wine farmers in an informal setting, experience the intricate winemaking process and discover the story behind the bottle. Traditional dishes will be paired with award winning vintages, and the family market taking place on Sunday is the perfect spot to meet local chefs and winemakers.
Each event is charged for individually and available on the festival programme at robertsonslow.com .
The family regional market takes place 6 August 10h00-14h00. Local wine, produce, arts, food, music and children’s activities will be on offer. Entrance to the market is free.
