Save the date for the Franschhoek Bastille Festival 2017

Dust off those berets and brush up on your French accent. The Franschhoek Bastille Festival is taking place on 15 & 16 July, once again showing off the best from the valley.

This year’s festival promises to be even better than previous years with the addition of a hospitality package, ideal for those with an adventurous spirit. From 13 to 16 July guests have the opportunity to extend their Franschhoek Bastille Festival experience.  The package includes participation in a variety of mountain biking activities over three days including the Contre La Montre, a race against the in the clock in the glorious Franschhoek mountains, with difficulty levels to suit all mountain bikers.  Also included is accommodation, access to exclusive functions and meals as per the package, as well as day activities to enjoy some of the finest food and wine experiences available in Franschhoek.

The Food & Wine Marquee, open 15 to 16 July, will once again be set against the backdrop of the historic Huguenot Monument offering exquisite views of the mountain. Here you can sample the superb Franschhoek wines on offer or treat your taste buds to the selection of delicious gourmet fare available to purchase from some of Franschhoek’s well-known eateries.

And yes, they will once again have that quirky artist who makes you look like a tipsy cartoon character, as well as the Porcupine Ridge Barrel Rolling Competition and a dedicated children’s area.

Of course the activity is not just kept within the festival grounds. The entire Franschhoek village turns into a buzz of activity over this weekend and it’s worth taking a stroll through the various boutique shops.
