The Season of Sauvignon Festival is back in the Durbanville Wine Valley from 29 – 30 October 2016. But apart from the actual festival weekend wine lovers can also look forward to a host of Sauvignon Blanc activities in the Valley during the month of October.
Visitors to the valley can choose from a range of experiences created around this celebrated varietal. Altydgedacht, Bloemendal, D’Aria, Diemersdal, De Grendel, Durbanville Hills, Hillcrest, Klein Roosboom, Meerendal, Nitida, Groot Phizantekraal and Signal Gun will each be celebrating the start of white wine season in their own individual style. You can look forward to Sauvignon Blanc inspired menus in the restaurants, Sauvignon Blanc tutored tastings in the Tasting Rooms, fashion and art events as well as the chance to taste the variety of Sauvignon Blanc styles produced in this region.
The Durbanville wine valley produces some of our country’s best Sauvignon Blanc so it is definitely worth stopping by and seeing what they have to offer. It doesn’t hurt that this wine region is only 20 minutes out of Cape Town, with a scenic countryside setting to help you unwind.
From 1 October each of the participating farms will present the Valley Tasting in their respective tasting rooms. Head to your favourite Durbanville Wine Valley farm to taste the Sauvignon Blancs of all 12 producers for only R50pp.

The month of Sauvignon Blanc festivities will all lead up to the official festival over the weekend of 29 and 30 of October. Apart from delicious vino, you can also look forward to a selection of fun activities for adults and kids presented by the various farms.
You will also have the opportunity to taste and purchase the Durbanville Twelve Sauvignon Blanc 2016. This wine is produced by the Durbanville Wine Valley from a ton of grapes from each of the 12 farms, and will be available during the Season of Sauvignon and afterwards for sale from each of the participating wineries. It sells out in a flash so if you love it, buy a box.
The Season of Sauvignon festival was a Klink award in 2015 in the ‘Crowd Pleaser’ category for Best Wine Route Event. It is a seriously popular festival so do add it to your calendar.
