A Christmas gift guide for when you love to treat yo' self | 9Lives
Reading Time: 4 min

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, so treat yo’ self and others with this ‘pamper hamper’ Christmas gift guide for the holiday season.

In my guide, I’ve put together a few of my favourite items that I think are essential when you’re looking to pamper yourself or someone special. The items I’ve chosen to include are a bottle of delicious bubbly, a captivating book, a few scented candles, a relaxing bath bomb, a refreshing face mask, hydrating body oil, and some lovely perfume.

What I love most about my Christmas gift guide items is the fact that it can easily be mixed and matched to create a unique hamper, and they work as individual gifts as well.

Stellar Organic Chardonnay Pinot Noir (Sparkling)

R120.00, Faithful to Nature

There is nothing I love more than celebrating with a glass of bubbly. Stellar Organics’ Chardonnay Pinot Noir is the perfect bottle to pop for any occasion and has been a hit in our office. It’s incredibly refreshing and fruity, plus it’s organic, vegan-friendly and fair trade, making it the perfect gift for your more earth-conscious friends, too! What more could you want?

Christmas Gift Guide

Nuwe Stemme 6

R265.00, Takealot

Books are one of my favourite gifts to give and receive. I chose ‘Nuwe Stemme 6’ because I’ve recently taken up reading Afrikaans again, but also because I love poetry and this issue contains poems by 21 aspiring Afrikaans poets. “Nuwe Stemme’ has played an important role in the Afrikaans poetry scene since its first release in 1997, which gives it an interesting backstory, too. When gifting a book, I like to add a note that explains why I chose that particular book for the person I’m gifting it to.

Cape Island Scented Candles

R120.00, Cape Island

What’s better than lighting a few scented candles while taking a relaxing bath? I’m obsessed with candles and I love gifting them to friends and family members. Cape Island’s scented candles smell divine and they have quite a range to choose from as well. Clifton Beach is my favourite scent, I just love the sweet notes of coconut and vanilla, layered with tolu balsam and lime… it really does smell like a beach holiday! The candles are also proudly South African, are made with eco-friendly ingredients, and use ethical packaging all without compromising on quality.

Christmas Gift Guide

Lush Bath Bomb

From R54.50, Lush

Who doesn’t love a bath bomb? They look cool, they smell amazing, and when they hit the water magic happens. That’s why I think they are such a great gift. My favourite place to find a bath bomb is at Lush, of course. They have SO many different bath bombs to choose from, I could literally spend an entire lifetime in a Lush looking and smelling it all. They also have different price ranges which are great when budgets are a little bit tight.

Christmas Gift Guide

Woolworths Purifying Clay Mask

R 79.99, Woolworths

Picture this, you’re running a bath, you plop your bath bomb in and let it fizz away, you light a few candles, you pop a bottle of bubbly, apply a face mask and grab a book… sounds like an ideal stay-in pamper yourself kind-of night. I love myself a good clay mask, and Woolworths’ Purifying Clay Mask will clear and purify everything on your face. Formulated with blue sea kale, chamomile, acai berry, and cucumber extracts, its super nourishing and leaves your skin feeling soft and smooth. Anyone you gift this to will love you, and their baby soft skin, for it!

NUXE Huile Prodigieuse Florale Multi Use Dry Oil

R 495.00 for 100ml, Absolute Skin

Nuxe’s dry oil is an iconic product, made with seven 100% botanical precious oils. Their new floral and delicate version is absolutely to die for. Because it’s a dry oil texture it can be used effectively on the body, face and hair to moisturize, nourish, and repair. If you’re looking for a product to really treat someone, I think this is the perfect gift to give.

Chance Chanel Eau De Parfum Spray

From R1,720.00, Woolworths

If you truly want to spoil someone during the holidays, a bottle of perfume is just the way to go about it. I live for the Chance Chanel perfume because of its much younger yet sophisticated, fresh and floral scent. This is without a doubt my favourite fragrance at the moment and is a total winner for all the lovely, elegant ladies out there.
