The Franschoek Cap Classique & Champagne Festival takes place on 1 & 2 December at the iconic Huguenot Monument in Franschoek this year. Sit back, relax and sample the extensive range of MCCs and selected French Champagnes (from Champagne in France, so it’s the real deal!).

This festival is an opportunity to meet local MCC producers and the who’s who of the Winelands, so dress in your best black and white attire and mingle, mingle, mingle! There will also be an offering of delectable delights from Frranschoek’s world-class eateries, so don’t worry about the bubbles going to your head.

Tickets are R395pp and include access to the festival, which is open daily between 12pm and 5pm, as well as a complimentary tasting glass and MCC tasting coupons.

L’Ormarins just outside of Franschhoek, is the main estate in the Anthonij Rupert Wyne portfolio, where they craft MCC. The tasting pairs MCC and handmade nougat, which complements the distinct characteristics of each MCC perfectly. Gone are the days where MCC is only paired with oysters, caviar and strawberries — we’re so ready for this shift in tradition!

Tastings take place Mondays to Saturdays between 10:00 and 16:30 and will run you R60 per person. And be sure to book in advance!

The House of J.C. le Roux

R80 – R120pp,

The House of J.C. le Roux offers four different tasting experiences, including an MCC tasting, a sparkling wine tasting, a bubbly and olives pairing and a nougat and bubbly pairing.
The exquisite handcrafted nougats and salty olives bring out different flavour profiles in the MCCs and sparkling wines, which will let you taste the different nuances in the wines.
The tasting room and surrounds are absolutely breathtaking, which makes this the perfect spot to spend your day with some bubbly.
