I’m a sucker for a delicious fragrance, even more so when it’s on the husband. A man that smells as good as he looks is just a total treat.
Over the last few weeks I’ve been introduced to some really yummy scents for the boys and I’ve picked a few that make me weak at the knees. So since we’re moving into the festive season, go check these out as a special gift for him (but really, you’re winning with this one).
Armani Code Colonia EDT
From R1145, select department stores
Armani Code Colonia is that charming guy with his cool swagger and disarming, casual ease. The scent is delicious and refreshing. You get bright bergamot, mandarin and pink pepper on the first, with heart notes of sage and orange blossom, and warming amber, tonka and heliotrope bringing up the base.
Dunhill Icon Racing EDP
From R1 095, Foschini, Truworths, Edgars, Red Square and Markham
This fragrance captures the British Racing spirit, with a classic vintage green metal exterior and bold racing stripes swiped across the top of the bottle. The juice is energetic, vibrant and sophisticated, with top notes of bergamot, grapefruit and cardamom, supported by lavender and fresh pepper at the heart, and warm woody notes at the base.
John Varvatos Artisan Blu EDT
From R1195, Edgars, Red Square and Foschini
I have a soft spot for John Varvatos fragrances and love handing them over to the husband. From the beautifully crafted packaging to the indulgent, delicious scents, each launch from the brand delivers something special.
Artisan Blu was inspired by the Mediteranean Sea, capturing that casual elegance with radiant, crisp notes. It opens with Bergamot, Bitter Orange and Basil, supported by Sage and Orange Blossom at the heart, and a sweet woody base of pine, cedar and patchouli.
Issey Miyake L’Eau Majeure D’Issey for Men EDT
From R965, select department stores
L’Eau Majeure d’Issey was inspired by the strength and tumult of waves, the movement, energy and majesty of it. The bottle takes its cue from polished sea glass, with a subtle blue-grey colour shining through.
The juice draws on the idea of driftwood caught in the waves, with a salty, fresh, woody scent. You’ll catch radiant bergamot and grapefruit underpinned by unique sea salt, mineral notes, and soft woods at the base. It is interesting, spirited and seriously alluring.
Zadig & Voltaire Just Rock! Pour Lui EDT
Zadig & Voltaire is pretty new to our shores but they’re already one of my favourites. Just Rock! is the latest release (they also have one for us girls) and I think it is oh so yummy – like sweet incense mixed with fresh herbaceous hints. Just Rock! for Him is a blend of warm, woody notes, including black vanilla, spices, tonka bean and patchouli. Delicious.
