I visited the new Camelot Spa Val de Vie | 9Lives

Here’s your chance to play billionaire for a day. Camelot Spa Val de Vie has opened at Pearl Valley, the ultra high end estate on the outskirts of Franschhoek. And with a full menu including spa treatments, salon offerings, mani-pedis and waxing, you can easily fancy yourself a lady of leisure for one whole day. I popped in for a visit.

Camelot Spa Val de Vie opened earlier this year, offering a everything you need for a full head-to-toe pampering. They have six spacious treatment rooms including three couple’s rooms, as well as a steam bath, sauna, rasul chamber and a  hydrotherapy bath. The decor is simplistic and refined, with a style somewhere between Japanese minimalism and industrial chic. It works.

On arrival I changed into a thick, comfortable robe. From there I was led to their relaxation room for a cup of herbal tea before heading in for my massage. My therapist was professional – familiar without being overly chatty – and the treatment itself was lovely.

For me, one major win is the in-house salon, so after you’ve had your relaxing massage you can pop over to get a proper blow-out and finish it off with a mani-pedi. And then you can walk out of there looking like a million bucks.

Camelot Spa Val de Vie is not the most exciting spa in the valley but the facilities are lovely and their prices are pretty decent. You can get a 60 minute full body massage starting from R660, or a 30 minute area-specific treat for around R400.

Take note that while they are called Camelot Spa Val de Vie, they are actually situated on Pearl Valley Estate neighbouring Val de Vie.
