5 Celebs Who are Owning their Natural Beauty | 9Lives
Reading Time: 3 min

There has been a massive movement recently of women owning their natural beauty. Those aren’t stretch marks, they’re tiger stripes, freckles are forever, and we shouldn’t be measured by our waistlines.

We’re more grateful than ever to these 5 celebs who are owning their natural beauty.

1. Demi Lovato

Spearheading the No Makeup Monday campaign on social media, it’s no shock that Demi Lovato is at the top of our list of celebs who have embraced their natural beauty. Demi has been pretty open to her fans and the public regarding her struggles with eating disorders and the treatment that she has gone through, stating that she’s never been as happy with her body as she is today.

“I feel the most beautiful when I’m naked. Just completely stripped down, completely organic, me.”

2. Ashley Graham

In an industry that is overrun by bodies showing no imperfections, it’s refreshing to see “plus-size” supermodel Ashley Graham take to the stage to encourage loving oneself completely. Making it look effortless, she is no stranger to shutting down internet trolls that feel the need to comment on her size and shape. In fact, the model has graced the cover of Sports Illustrated, saying that claiming her natural beauty was what got her there.

“I workout. I eat well. I love the skin I’m in. And I’m not ashamed of a few lumps, bumps or cellulite… And you shouldn’t be either.”

3. Zoe Kravitz

The biracial daughter of Lenny Kravitz and Lisa Bonet says that she’s no stranger to racial- or body issues, having grown up in a white neighbourhood and feeling the pressure to fit in. She admits to having “resisted her roots” whilst growing up, as well as battling eating disorders and struggling to connect to who she was as a person. These days she’s fully embraced her heritage, saying that beauty comes from within.

“Loving yourself is a journey—we’re all just trying to figure it out.”

4. Chrissy Teigen

The supermodel mom-of-two is no stranger to posting topless photos or casually admitting to stretch-marks on social media. Although stating that she still struggles with body insecurity, Chrissy Teigen says that she is embracing the “mom-bod life”, accepting that a changing body is inevitable and hopes that her candidness will help other women to accept their natural bodies as well.

“Please don’t shame me I am a strong proud salad making woman just being natural and trying to live my life.”

5. Lady Gaga

This might come as surprise for some. The performer most renowned for her crazy style and over-the-top costumes is actually pretty chilled when it comes to her own natural state. Despite stating that she doesn’t consider herself “conventionally attractive”, she’s been a huge advocate for no-makeup selfies and has encouraged her followers to share their own natural beauty.
I believe the one thing that proved her self-confidence was shutting down body-shamers who responded to her au natural photos on social media.

“I’ve come to a place in my life where I’ve accepted things that are me, as opposed to feeling pressure to explain myself to people around me.”
