This month, Chefs Craig Cormack and Beau du Toit from The Goose Roasters are opening a brand new restaurant at Paul Cluver in Elgin. Say hello to SALT.
Set to open to the public on 13 December 2017, SALT promises to be a cozy restaurant with a focus on wine, salt and food pairing, spearheaded by Mechell Spann who you might know from The Hoghouse BBQ & Bakery at Spier.
“This was the perfect opportunity for us to grow the SALT experience, and the Cluvers presented us with the most amazing venue to work with. It was a match made in culinary heaven. With Beau and myself guiding our new shining star, Mechell Spann, we believe that SALT at Paul Cluver will be a great success, “says Craig.
SALT at Paul Cluver will be open for breakfast and lunch, celebrating wholesome foods with a twist. You can expect your breakfast classics like free range eggs with home-cured and smoked bacon, or try a curve ball like Banana Cream Pie.
For lunch, go wild with starters, mains and desserts, including dishes like Plum Fed Pork with Salt and Pepper Squid, or Oyster Mushroom Farfalle for the meat-free folk. And if you’re feeling sweet, the Three Bean Sundae or Hot Waffle with Fudge Ice Cream sound divine.
“Our ‘SALT’ philosophy is to have an authentic approach which means using only the best ingredients to cook honest, no fuss, but tasty food, ‘’ says Beau. “It’s about keeping it real.”
SALT restaurant will be open Tuesday to Sunday, 08:30am to 16:30pm, and pre-booking is recommended. Take note that the restaurant will be closed on 25 and 26 December 2017, as well as 1 January 2018.
