Exploring the Breede River Valley

The Breede River Valley is without a doubt one of the most picturesque regions in South Africa. Stretching all the way from Gouda to McGregor, and Montagu to the Karoo, this fruit and wine producing valley became extremely popular, attracting visitors from all over. And with good reason. Whether you are just passing through on Route 62, or planning a weekend of activities, you are in for a treat.

Join me as I explore the Breede River Valley in all of its glory:

Cruise on the Breede River at Viljoensdrift

What pairs well with a snack basket and a bottle of bubbly? A sunset cruise on the Breede River of course! Viljoensdrift Wines, between Robertson and Bonnievale, offers you the full riverside experience. On arrival you are welcomed with a free wine tasting, after which you can fill up your picnic basket at their deli. Throw in a bottle Viljoensdrift wine or two, and you are all set for the 1-hour meander along the river.

The cruise comes in at a mere R80 for adults, and R20 for kids between 3-12 years old. Book in advance to avoid disappointment.
