The Franschhoek Cap Classique and Champagne Festival, ‘The Magic of Bubbles’, will take place on 2 and 3 December. Dress up in your swankiest black and white outfit and head over to the pristine winelands town for a day of MCC and champagne.

The festival will once again take place at the Huguenot Monument in Franschhoek where you can sip the best local brands, as well as a selection of international suppliers serving up French champagne.

The Franschhoek valley makes some seriously good MCC. I highly recommend you try L’Ormarins, Black Elephant Vintners, Charles Fox, Genevieve MCC and Le Lude.

Aside from a wide range of MCCs to choose from, you can also enjoy food by The Thai Hut Company, Bread & Wines, The Restaurant at Grande Provence, Huguenot Fine Chocolates and L’ermitage. And if you’re still hungry, venture into town to grab lunch at one of the many establishments.

If you’re a fan of the hustle, then head over on Saturday. Make sure you arrive early to grab a table in the shade and take some extra cash if you’re keen to try the French brands. Sunday has a more relaxed vibe but it’s still a great day out.

Remember that Franschhoek is boiling in summer so make sure you take a hat and drink plenty of water with those bubbles.

Dates: 2 & 3 December

Time: 12:00 – 17:00

Tickets: R375pp from Webtickets, which includes access to the festival, a tasting glass and tasting coupons. Additional vouchers can be purchased on the day. Children under 18 years will be allowed free entry to the festival.
