The Galileo Open Air Cinema is back from 31 October, with a brilliant lineup of classic films screened at their various setups across the Western Cape.

If you haven’t been yet, you’re going to love this night under the stars. Spread a picnic on the lawn, have a few sundowners and as soon as the sun has set you can settle in for the film.

Can you say Date Night Goals?

This season they have a great lineup, including Grease (Kirstenbosch), The Notebook (Bloemendal Wine Estate), Mamma Mia (Castle of Good Hope) and Titanic (V&A Waterfront). You can view the full program HERE. You can also find a Galileo Open Air Cinema closest to you at – click on the Venues tab.

The doors open at 6pm on weekdays, 5pm on Saturdays and 4pm on Sundays. The movie starts as soon as it is dark, normally around 8pm.

They usually have a nice selection of artisan food and drinks for sale but if you’re not keen on queuing you can pack your own basket. You also have the option to pre-order a picnic box when you buy your ticket. Each box includes a Osumo wrap (chicken, tuna or veggie), chips, caramel popcorn, juice and a chocolate for R140.

They also offer chairs and blankets to rent, which are worth it. It gets pretty chilly, even on warm evenings, so remember to take something warm along.

The Galileo Open Air Cinema runs from 31 October to the end of April every year. Tickets range between R89 for standard entry and R175 for your VIP ticket, which includes a blanket, backrest, premium seating and snacks.

Head over HERE to buy tickets.

I am a lifestyle blogger from Cape Town trying to find the best ways to spend my time, take care of my body and express myself. I am slightly obsessed with fragrances, sneakers, Jamie Oliver and Masterchef Australia. Oh, and I probably drink way too much wine.
