KAMERS/Makers celebrates its 15th year in 2017, once again promising a large showcase of top South African design. Through the years they have established themselves as one of South Africa’s premier platforms for artisan designers, providing a space where creatives can showcase their wares, meet new customers and network with others in the industry. For us it means an unique shopping experience where you get to discover our local talent, and often the designers will be there in person to chat about their products – it’s a personal, hands-on experience that we’ve lost in mass consumer culture.

The showcase is all about providing a stepping stone for young creatives. In 2017 the Kamers/Makers team aim to further build new business, create jobs and secure livelihoods through their platform. “We have structured a number of initiatives aimed at spreading the power of KAMERS/Makers further and deeper into the communities in which we operate,” they promised in their press statement.

More than 150 makers will offer their proudly local artisan wares, delicious food and wine, live music and more at the Joburg and Cape Town shows this Autumn. These event are always highly popular and definitely worth visiting. It’s a treasure trove.

I am a lifestyle blogger from Cape Town trying to find the best ways to spend my time, take care of my body and express myself. I am slightly obsessed with fragrances, sneakers, Jamie Oliver and Masterchef Australia. Oh, and I probably drink way too much wine.
