Hi, I’m Lojandri, and like many others I had a whole “new year, new me ” outlook planned for this year. I had a list and everything! As usual life happens and 3 months in, I’m less “new year, new me” and more “where can I cancel my subscription to 2020?” There is, however, a faint glimmer of hope for this young introvert as I am finally moving into my own tiny little apartment, just in time for the lockdown period that is about to start.

So, during this time of isolation (let’s pretend that this isn’t how I already live) I have a lot of time on my hands to decorate my lovely hobbit hole and get back on track with my resolutions. Living a healthy lifestyle, stepping out (proverbially at this point) of my comfort zone, and decorating my flat are some of the tasks that are at the top of my list.

Disclaimer: I do have a diploma in interior design, so I’m not flying blind, but I am by no means a professional. My home is small, the wall plastering leaves something to be desired and I have no idea how I’m going to fit all my clothes into my tiny closet (#firstworldproblems), but it is MY home and that makes my heart happy.

In the past short few months of 2020, I have learned that I am not as patient as I thought, I am not as kind as I want to be, and I still suck at replying to messages, but I didn’t come this far to only come this far.  Perhaps, like my home, I too am in need of some TLC. I am beyond excited for this journey of not only living by myself, but also with myself, enjoying my own company in a space that is completely my own.

I’m a quirky, go-with-the-flow kind of girl, as long as I know where the flow is going. And I like coffee. Actually no, I LOVE coffee! I love that it represents what I’m all about - visits with friends and DMCs on the porch, the last bit of “kuier” at a braai, snuggling in bed with a good book, and late nights with endless assignments. So, if I ever invite you over for a brew, just know that it means the world to me.
