Luxury spoils for the festive season

The festive season is a great time to spoil all the special people in your life, but I also recommend you spend a little of your Christmas bonus on yourself. Here are a couple of luxuries I am currently drooling over.

Rain Butterballs

R65 each, rainafrica.com

This box arrived at my desk a week ago and as soon as I opened it the entire office filled with the seductive scent of essential oils. The four butterballs were snug in soft white tissue paper and packed in a fabric-wrapped box, lending an air of luxury to the entire experience.

My box contained their four variants: a Tea Flower with Tesu Flowers and orange oil, the gorgeous Cleopatra’s Gold & Milk Bath ball with rice and coconut milk, cocoa and shea butter, and gold leaf. They also added Bed of Roses with roses, coconut and shea oil, and finally Butterfly Pea, with cocoa and Shea butter, coconut oil and a gorgeous Butterfly Pea flower scent.

YSL Beauté has launched their holiday look, an explosion of stars and a celebration of sparkle. It is unashamedly bold and completely mesmerizing. The hero product is their Multi-Usage Palette (R935), a couture makeup palette with a lovely collection of shades to jazz up your holiday look. It includes eye shadow shades in plum, gold, bronze and metallic rose, and two lip colours – one nude and one dramatic red. The range also contains two shades of La Laque Couture nail enamels (R390 each) – I received Silver Clash, a gorgeous white-silver shimmering polish, and they have also launched a Touche Eclat Collector Sparkle Edition (R600) along with a few other goodies. Dermalogica Power Rescue Masque Trio

R960 for three 38ml masks.

This holiday Christmas season Dermalogica has released three gift sets with some of their best selling products. I am particularly excited about this set, with their charcoal rescue masque, multivitamin power recovery masque and skin hydrating masque in limited edition 38ml sizes. It’s everything you need for a good pamper. The masks are also easy to work into your current routine, and you can vary them according to what your skin needs.

Real Techniques Bold Metals Brushes

Foschiniforbeauty.co.za

I am shamelessly in love with the Bold Metals brush collection from Real Techniques and they have just launched two newbies to their range: a Triangle Concealer Brush (R379,95) and a Tapered Shadow Brush (R329,95). The triangle brush is particularly clever, with 3 sides to make it easier to conceal, blend and cover spots. Apart from being ridiculously pretty, these brushes are brilliant quality. They blend beautifully and they are super easy to clean.

Urban Decay Illuminated Trio Shimmering Powder for Face and Body – Limited Edition

I mean, how beautiful? This limited-edition palette contains three new shades of the Urban Decay Shimmering Powder for Face and Body. You get the champagne-gold Pyrite shade, a frosted taupe Oasis variant and a warm pink Twilight highlighter. Each shade has super fine light-reflecting particles for a natural, luminous look. Apply it on all the high points of your face and on parts of your body that will catch the light like your shoulders and collar bone. The palette comes in a gorgeous marble-look case with a large mirror inside and a brush.
