I’ve always had a soft spot for a Nivea shower gel.

When I was in university I joined a group of musicians on a tour bus travelling up and down the coast during the December holidays. Every night we would camp out at a different location after the shows, listening to the crash of the ocean between the gentle strums of an acoustic guitar close by. Our shower facilities were these open-top tented cubicles so you had a clear view of blue skies above your head and the warm sun shining down on you as you washed. On that trip I was using the Nivea Happy Time body wash, which has this soft, sweet, fruity fragrance. Whenever I smell it now I am transported back to that holiday, when I was flooded feelings of freedom and pure joy, standing in the summer sun with the scent of orange flower wafting through the air.

Nivea really gets it right when it comes to scent, but their formulations are equally lovely. I recently received their Care & Coconut and Care & Magnolia body washes and I’ve been trying it out for the last week or so. Both variants have a soft, delicate, attractive scent (I particularly love the Care & Coconut), with a good foaming formula that doesn’t dry your skin out. My skin is on the dryer side for the better part of the year so I’m particularly sensitive to body washes that leave that stripped, tight feeling. On the long run these can really damage your skin’s natural barrier, leaving it prone to dehydration and flaking.

The Nivea washes have been formulated with brilliant hydrating ingredients. The Care & Coconut shower cream has been formulated with Jojoba Oil while the Care & Magnolia contains Shea Butter and Macadamia Oils, which all have excellent nourishing properties. I felt that when showering with these my skin felt perfectly comfortable until I could apply body lotion.

We are heading into the most hectic time of the year; the last push before we can all sign off and disappear to some tiny town on the coast where Wi-Fi is still a myth. During these last grueling weeks, make sure you take a little time for yourself to breath and relax. Even if you can just enjoy the bliss of a warm shower and delicious fragrances swirling around you, indulge in that moment.

Hopefully I can help:

Two 9Lives readers will win a Nivea shower hamper worth over R500 each, with the Care & Coconut and Care & Magnolia shower washes (500ml and 250 ml in each), a Nivea Pampering Shower Oil, slippers and a loofa. It’s a perfect little pamper kit! To enter, tell me how you love to treat yourself in the comments section below, or email me: sayhello@9Lives.co.za

Being a shift working wife and mom of two, life gets quite hectic at times so pamper sessions are few and far in-between. When I actually do get the chance, I love a long bubble bath with soft music and a glass of good wine.

We don’t have a bath – so I light candles for every (night time) shower. I have some tea and cuddle up with my husband. We’re newly weds and didn’t live together before, so we’re getting used to many things – including expenses we didn’t have before. So lighting candles, tea and cuddles are all virtually free and have come to mean so much. These pamper kits would be a really amazing addition to my pamper / me time. 🙂

Ah this is such a special time in your relationship – hectic but also amazing! I love that you take time to just be together and reconnect, it is easy to loose touch with each other when life gets really busy. I think marriage can only work if you work at it all the time! I am sure this hamper will add to your pamper session! Thanks for entering!

Every Sunday I go up to the rooftop with a cup of tea to relax and music to help enjoy the city scenery. Followed by a long hot bath to wrap up a beautiful Sunday ??

I’m a stay at home mom so I’ve decided to dedicate every Friday to really grooming and pampering myself! I don’t have to dress up or wear make-up every day but on weekends I go all out ? I will put enzyme exfoliator on my skin and leave it on to do it’s job, Olaplex treatment on my hair over night and then do some waxing or plucking eyebrows ? Depending on the state of my toenails I will give myself a pedicure ? I always feel like a queen on a Friday ? Thank You so much ?

I’ve developed a habit of using those masks you get from Clicks, painting my nails (NOT before bedtime as I enevitably end up with duvet imprints lol) and a long, hot bath. I also try to avoid using digital devices an hour before bedtime, and opt for a good book instead. Nivea is possibly my number-one go-to for indulgence.

Thanks for entering! I so agree with ditching digital devices at least an hour before bed. It’s taken some time breaking the habit but I do notice I sleep much better if I reach for a book instead of checking Facebook or Pinterest before bed.

I love my at-home self-pamper sessions. Even my boyfriend gets involved now. I usually do my feet more often than my hands or face. So I’d run a bath with salts and bubbles & oils and apply my facial. once out the bath I wash my hair. After getting dressed I settle infront of the TV with one of my fav series & I do my feet: great and exfoliate and moisturise. Then I do my hands; exfoliate moisturise and do my nails. it’s really a great unwinding for me.

Hi there! I am a busy mum to 3 boys, so treats are few and far between, but when I get the chance, a chance to sit at my piano and play or watch a missed movie is my treat x

Busy working from home mom means that a lot of my free time is spent doing work I never get around to doing. But when I do get a few minutes to spoil myself, I catch up on YouTube and indulge in some chocolates!

After a long day of working, there comes a time when I need to just have a little time for myself. I treat myself to a long bath with some nice bubble bath with some music. To wind down from all the hussle and bustle of the day. I also enjoy playing guitar and drawing after a nice fresh bath!

I know it sounds like a cliche but seriously, at the end of a long day, I find nothing more relaxing and calming than a fragrant bath where I can pick and choose which smellies to pamper myself with. Oils, candles, bath gels, creams, foams, bubbles, sponges, facecloths …. that time alone with gorgeous smells surrounding me, the soothing warmth of the water and most importantly, the SILENCE, is pure bliss. I happen to love Nivea bath products too, their shower oil is amazing and all their goodies smell amazing!! I’m that one gal who never ever tires of receiving a gift of soap or bath/showel cream/gel so this would be ahmazing!!
