On the flipside of 70s Boho, 90s Baby Doll fashion is another big trend going into summer and I think it is so much fun. The trend is unashamedly cute and you can really indulge in the girly aspects.
I’m loving baby T-shirts sporting tongue-in-cheek slogans or cute patterns, worn with high waist shorts and rounded off with sneakers. You can also play around with your socks – why hide away those plain black or white secret socks when you can indulge in cute patterns, frills and tassels in a variety of bright colours. Currently I’m going through a pink phase.
I recently attended the opening of the first South African Supré store in Cavendish Square, which is where I got the shorts and shirt. This is the latest sister in the Cotton On group and they offer a fun selection of ultra girly items that make me long for beach holidays.
The sneakers are from Green Cross. This season they still have your stock of practical, supportive shoes but they’ve also incorporated some nice trend pieces into the new collection. These sneakers were my favourite from the range, with silver leather finishes and crisscross detailing on the sides. It also helps that they are as comfortable as you would expect from Green Cross Shoes.
Reflector sunnies are another statement piece I love for the season and you’ll find them all over the shops at the moment. The ones I am wearing are by Lundun and are available from Zando. The online store is currently restocking these so keep an eye out. I also spotted some really fun heart-shaped reflector styles at Supré.
I rounded off the outfit with some teal blue nails and a pink gloss on the lips. Bring on summer!
