PUMA has brought their new global women’s campaign to local shores, naming actress and model Nomzamo Mbatha as the South African ambassador for DO YOU.
The new campaign has been created to inspire confidence and to challenge women to take ownership of themselves, their bodies and their situations. Can I get an Amen!
I love the fact that more and more brands are encouraging beauty in all its forms, promoting individuality instead of conformity, and spreading the message of strength and confidence in your own abilities. Each one of us should set out to identify and celebrate our own, unique beauty.
For Mbatha this campaign is all about staying true to yourself. “I think we are definitely living in a time where women are taking back their identity; we’re taking back the narrative of feminism and we’re saying, I’m going to do me. The only way to ‘DO YOU’ is to be you.”
The ever controversial Rihanna served as the Creative Director for the campaign. The singer once shared, “I dare myself to make things work. I don’t do things for the response or controversy. I just live my life.”
The campaign inspires women to stay true to themselves, make their own rules, and never take ‘no’ for an answer. It creates a conversation that encourages women to be confident, motivated, and never willing to compromise on anything from their personal style to their workouts to their life.

Nomzamo joins the strong women appearing in the campaign, including international model, actress and activist Cara Delevigne, Mimi Staker and Olivia Boisson of the New York City Ballet, German track and field athletes Alexandra Wester and Tatjana Pinto, and Cuban volleyball players Leila Consuelo Ortega Martinez and Lianma Flores Stable and Rihanna.
I am so excited about this message. We live in a time when you can be anything you want – if you can dream it, you really can achieve success with hard work. The important thing is to stand firmly behind your beliefs and who you are.
