Quick Review: Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette

There’s a new Urban Decay Naked palette in town! The Urban Decay Naked Ultimate Basics Palette has just dropped, with 12 brand new shades that will work for pretty much everyone. These shades are exclusive to the new palette, with eleven matte shades and one semi-matte that is ideal for highlighting and a collection of colours suited to all skin tones from light to dark, warm and cool.

Firstly let’s judge this book by its cover because the packaging of this palette is gorgeous. It comes in a rose gold metal casing with an embossed detail on the front, and inside you have a full-size mirror covering the inside top. The palette also comes with a lovely brush that has a fluffy blender on one end and a smudger on the other that you can use to apply darker shades close to the eyelids.

As for the colours, I’m super impressed. As you’d expect from Urban Decay, the pigment quality is brilliant and the shadows have this beautiful velvet quality to them. For a daytime look I would use Nudie and Pre-Game as base colours and then define with Faith in the crease, Lookout along the lash line, and then use Blow as a highlighter on the brow bone and inner corner of my eyes. For an evening look I would love to play with the aubergine Instinct and Lethal shades, and you can create a gorgeous smokey eye with Magnet and Blackjack.

The palette goes for R850 and is available now on www.urbandecay.co.za . Hurry before they sell out.

I love it! Such a nice mix of shades and I adore the velvet finish.

It is seriously gorgeous! So far it is probably my favourite, although I do love stroking that velvet one…
