The holidays might be over but the summer social season is just getting into full swing. If you are keen for a mid-week breakaway to the winelands, make your way to the Stellenbosch Street Soirees. This pop-up street party has become a highly popular event in the historic town, when Drostdy Street is closed off to cars and flooded with local wine farms and restaurants showing off their goods.

The Stellenbosch Street Soirees take place every second and last week of the month and will celebrate the area’s food and wine culture, with live music to set the scene. It is a brilliant after-work event that gives you the opportunity to sample some of the best wines from the region, have a bite to eat and kick back with a few friends.

Entry to the festival is R70 and includes a glass to taste as many wines as you wish. Street food will be on sale. Wednesday is also Klein Saterdag (little Saturday) in Stellenbosch and a fun night to hit the town if you’re keen for a party.
