Taking it easy with our favourite pamper products

Sometimes good pamper products is all that keeps you going. Between work, hitting the gym, keeping up with those social commitments and the hundred other things that we have to do everyday, it’s no wonder that we’re feeling a bit frazzled by now. This week we here at 9Lives decided to slow things down a bit and enjoy the small things in life that make us appreciate it a little more. From Prosecco to a new favourite shampoo and conditioner, here’s a look at the things that we appreciated.

Da Luca Prosecco
R129 for 750ml, yuppiechef.com

There is nothing that warms my heart more than bubbles. And I love bubblies unconditionally; I love sweet bubbles and dry bubbles, bubbles made in the traditional champagne style and Italian varieties. I like to drink them with breakfast, lunch and dinner. Even if there is nothing to celebrate, I open a bottle of sparkling wine, for myself – celebrating myself. I have also been blessed by all the right gods to have a fiancee that absolutely loves indulging my obsession. To me there is nothing more relaxing than sharing a glass of bubbles with him at the end of a long day.

If I had to choose a bubbly favourite, I’d have to settle for prosecco. Therefore, I immediately added the Da Luca prosecco to the list for this week’s round-up. With an apricot nose and soft bubbles on the tongue, it finishes with a subtle strawberry taste. It is truly refreshing and I highly recommend that you enjoy this particular one chilled. And, trust me, no one will judge you if you opt to have of glass while chilling in the tub.

La Motte Bath Salt
R290,00, La Motte Farm Shop

Every now and again I treat myself to a good bath and a glass of wine. Nothing beats relaxing with your favourite products! One of the products that has found its way into my pamper kit is the bath salt from the La Motte farm shop. There are a lot of benefits from bathing with bath salts; with strong scents of lavender, this bath salt will not only leave you smelling amazing, but it is also a great exfoliant for your skin. It draws toxins out of your body and lets the important minerals soak in, leaving your skin feeling detoxed. Not only will the La Motte bath help relieve muscle tension, but it’s also perfect for helping to clear out the emotional static left from dealing with day-to-day stress! Allow yourself to relax and pamper yourself every once in a while. You’ll notice the difference and your body will thank you!

Another bonus of the bath salt from La Motte’s farm shop is that it’s packaged in a beautiful white clay pot that makes this a great gift for anyone that needs some TLC!

Aloe Unique Aloe & Honey Gel Mask
R119,00 for 75ml, aloeunique.co.za

This Aloe & Honey Gel Mask was an absolute treat for me this week. The Aloe Ferox leaf extract in the mask lends it a very sticky but luxurious consistency that I loved, and the antioxidant blend of vitamiA, B, C and E worked to lend my skin the moisture that it was sorely lacking. My skin didn’t feel as tight or itchy after using it, and the cooling effect was amazing, not to mention the great, clean smell that comes with it.

The mask needs to be applied in a thick layer and left on for about 10 – 20 minutes at least before rinsing off, but can also be left on overnight. I found this a little strange, but tried it anyway. And hey, it worked.

R500,00 for 250ml, crabtree-evelyn.co.za

After a long, hard day, I love taking a few moments to relax in the shower and wash away all the stress of the day. I also have very sensitive skin, which is why Crabtree & Evelyn’s Goatmilk & Oat Shower Milk is perfect for me. Its special formulation enriched with a soothing blend of free-range goat’s milk, oats and vitamin E gives my skin a healthy dose of nourishment without being too harsh. The creamy, milky cleanser left my skin feeling ridiculously soft, supple and refreshed — the perfect way to end off the day before slipping between the sheets.
