Three top Franschhoek chefs are putting on their superhero aprons for the second year running in aid of the region’s most vulnerable children at an inspiring StreetSmart luncheon at Foliage on Monday, 6 May 2019.
After last year’s successful inaugural luncheon, Foliage restaurant has come on board again with Chris Erasmus teaming up with fellow chefs David Schneider of Chef’s Warehouse at Maison, and Darren Badenhorst of Le coin Français for a not-to-be-missed culinary fund-raiser. This singular food and wine experience will be enlivened with the vibrant sounds of acoustic pop artist John Niel, who will be performing at the event.
StreetSmart SA, a non-profit organisation dedicated to the social integration and upliftment of street children and children at risk, will utilise the proceeds in support of affiliated NGO’s working in Franschhoek.
The annual event at Foliage is one of many fundraising initiatives that enable StreetSmart SA to make a meaningful difference in the lives of vulnerable children through various programmes undertaken by beneficiary organisations across the country.

Head chef at Chef’s Warehouse at Maison, David Schneider uses fresh seasonal ingredients for his global tapas-inspired menu that incorporates a world of flavours in one multi-coursed meal.
Darren Badenhorst, chef de cuisine and owner of Le coin Français, creates “art on a plate” that leads guests through a unique culinary exploration of flavours, textures and interactive creations inspired by nostalgic food memories.
All three chefs have excelled at the Eat Out Mercedes-Benz Restaurant Awards in recent years.
