This past month has seen so many amazing launches and it is always difficult to pick my top choices. I decided to include the ones that either made me go “ooooooooh” when I opened the package, or that I’ve been reaching for every day. Finally I settled on a fantastic new oil cleanser – I wish I could explain how good it smells – as well as a delicious body range, perfume and afew fantastic makeup finds.

These are my February Beauty Favourites.

Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Botanical Cleansing Oil

R650 for 180ml,

I am absolutely obsessed with cleansing oils and balms at the moment, and this one is an absolute joy! If you’ve ever used the Kiehl’s Midnight Recovery Oil you will instantly recognise that seductive botanical fragrance which fills your senses as the oil melts on your skin.

You apply it to dry skin and massage it onto your face until all the makeup, sunscreen and daily dirt has loosened. Add a bit of water to emulsify, and then rinse it off. The botanical oils break down all the impurities so that they can be rinsed off, and then nourishing oils like Evening Primrose nourish your skin and support a healthy skin barrier.

The product worked brilliantly to take all my stubborn makeup off in seconds, without leaving my skin feeling stripped. You’ll also be happy to know that while this is an oil, it has a lightweight feel and doesn’t leave a sticky or greasy residue at all.

The Body Shop Almond Milk & Honey

Hand Cream R60 for 30ml, Body Butter R170 for 200ml and Body Scrub R190 for 250ml,

This is the latest Bath & Body range from The Body Shop and I think it is delicious! It smells like a honey sponge cake, with a soft, sweet fragrance.

My favourite product from the range is the body butter. It might just be my imagination, but I find it lighter than other body butters from The Body Shop – it spreads and absorbs more easily and feels a lot lighter on my skin. The range also contains a bath milk and a shower cream that sound incredible!

The scrub has the same seductive scent, but I found you need quite a lot of product to cover your entire body – so you go through it quickly – and it doesn’t really feel like it does much for circulation or exfoliation. So I would rather reach for the other goodies in the range.

Elie Saab Le Parfum Resort Collection (Limited Edition)

R1110 for 50ml, select department stores

This is such a beautiful fragrance for summer. It still has that classic Le Parfum essence, but wrapped in sparkling, fruity notes. It kicks off with juicy, zesty hits of mandarin and frangipani, followed by pomegranate, jasmine and orange blossom at the heart, and warm patchouli on the dry-down.

I also love the bottle, with a coral red gradient that makes me think of a tropical sunset. Lovely.

Lancôme Grandiôse Extreme Mascara and Eyeliner

Mascara R415, Eyeliner R340

Lancôme first introduced their Grandiôse mascara a few years back, with a swan neck wand that ensures easier application – no more knocks and bumps against your nose and cheeks. Now they’ve launched their new Grandiôse Extreme Mascara and Grandiôse Eyeliner.

The liner has a little ball joint that allows you to angle it for better application. If you are practiced with a standard liner it takes some getting use to, but once you get the hang of it you are bound to love it. I do.

The mascara is another goodie, coating each lash in deep black pigment for beautiful definition, volume and length. I wrote more about the mascara in my latest Tried & Tested post, you can read more on that here.

Yves Saint Laurent The Street & I Collection (Limited Edition)

Baby Doll Kiss & Blush Duo Stick in No 1 Marrakech to Paris (R415)

This new launch was inspired by the Baby Doll Kiss & Blush Lip and Cheek. It has two shades in one product that can be used separately or blurred together on your lips and cheeks. It has a balmy texture and lovely pigment quality so a little will go a long way.

Healthy Glow Powder Blush in The Street and I (R890)

The classic gold compact has been spiced up with the embossed slogan, “I have a Blush on You” – so cute – and inside you’ll find a soft coral shade that has a brick pattern carved into it. If you’re a collector, I think this one will definitely appeal to you.

I am a lifestyle blogger from Cape Town trying to find the best ways to spend my time, take care of my body and express myself. I am slightly obsessed with fragrances, sneakers, Jamie Oliver and Masterchef Australia. Oh, and I probably drink way too much wine.
