Winter is the best time to explore all our city has to offer, with all sorts of discounts, deals and special menus to lure the locals now that the tourists have left for sunnier shores.
Here are a few tantalizing winter restaurant specials that might even tempt Capetonians outside during bad weather.

Two for One on Mondays at Col’Cacchio
Col’Cacchio pizzeria is running a two for one special every Monday from May to August.
Buy any gourmet pizza and you can get a second classic or gourmet pizza of your choice, for free. The deal is valid on all in store or takeaway purchases but excludes all delivery orders. The less expensive pizza is free.

Weekday Lunch Special at Beerhouse
You can grab lunch for R60 every week day at Beerhouse on Long, which includes food and a beer / soft drink / Savanna. The menu varies every day but you can look forward to burgers, chicken wings, pulled pork as well as a selection of fresh salads.
They also run a two-for-one burger special every Monday for R75. Nice.

Weekday promos at Cape Town Fish Market
On Mondays you can get Fish & Chips or any burger with chips and onion rings for R50. Tuesdays they offer 50% off Classic Sushi. On Wednesdays you can get the Granger Bay seafood platter for two at R199, or the Fish Hoek platter for one at R99. And on Thursdays you can get sushi platters from R89.

Winter Special Menu at Kyoto Garden Sushi
This top notch sushi spot in Cape Town is offering 3 courses and a glass of wine for R220 pp.
Choose from dishes like Tuna Tartare or Veg Tempura for starters, Udon Noodles with Duck for a main, and Black Sesame Seed Ice Cream for dessert.

Winter Dinner Special at La Tête
La Tête opened at the end of last year, run by brothers Giles and James Edwards. They are especially famous for their Nose-to-Tail philosophy and their menu changes daily depending on what is fresh and available.
For their Winter Dinner Special, they’re offering 2 courses for R220 or 3 courses fro R260. The menu will mark which options are available to order.

Weekday Tapas Special at Foxcroft
Foxcroft is the baby of top chef Scot Kirton, proprietor at the internationally acclaimed La Colombe, and pastry chef, Glen Foxcroft Williams. It has has been enjoying plenty of attention since it opened, and was crowned Best New Restaurant at the 2016 Eat Out Awards.

Sharing Sundays at Gabrielskloof
Gabrielskloof outside Bot River is bringing the pleasure of a shared Sunday lunch to their restaurant this winter. You’ll be served up delicious French Farmstyle dishes to be shared among you and your friends at the table.
The Sharing Sundays banquet menu is available at only R300 per person for 4 courses.
They’re also serving a tempting week day winter menu at R210 per person for two courses and R250 per person for three, or guests can order a bite from their popular Deli Menu.

Blanko’s Winter Specials
Blanko restaurant at Alphen Hotel in Constantia has been causing soquite a bit of buzz since it opened.
Their winter menu provides the perfect excuse to visit. Order a la carte starting at R110 per dish, or try their set menu – R220 pp for 2 courses or R260 for 3 courses.
Winter Weekday Lunch Special at La Colombe
Enjoy a four course lunch for R395 pp, valid Monday to Thursday from 9 May to 8 June 2017
I mean, need I say more? La Colombe is not only one of the best restaurants in South Africa, they have also been voted one of the top restaurants in the world. So proud.
A full menu would normally cost you between R1100 and R1890, so this lunch special is seeeeeriously good value.

Lunch and Dinner specials at Terroir
From 2 May to 30 September, Terroir in Stellenbosch will tempt you with some lovely specials. Order two dishes (starter/main or main/dessert, served as standard-sized portions) from the à la carte menu, with a glass of Kleine Zalze Vineyard Selection wine, for R295 pp. The four-course tasting menu with/without wine pairing costs R395/R495 per person. Individual à la carte orders can still be made, and will be charged at the listed menu price.
Terroir is open for lunch from Tuesdays to Sundays from 12h00 – 14h30 and for dinner from Tuesdays to Saturdays from 18h30 – 21h00.
Lunchtime Winter Set Menu at Faber
Faber will be serving a 3 course winter set menu at R250pp from 1 May till 31 August, Wednesday to Sunday.
This sustainability-driven restaurant in the Paarl winelands has been raking in rave reviews, serving produce that is organic, free range and low carbon.
Take note Faber will be closed from 22 – 30 May and 26 June – 11 July.

Grab a Lucky Lunch at The Pot Luck Club
The Lucky Lunch winter promotion at The Pot Luck Club in Cape Town will run from 30 May to September where you can enjoy a lunch menu for R250pp from Monday to Friday. The menu is draws on a Japanese Kitchen Style lunch and includes crispy calamari, beef tataki, pork belly with XO and a steamed bun, chick pea fries, fish taco and Doenjang-jjigae Soup.

The Shortmarket Club Prix Fixe Menu
There’s a new value-for-money menu at The Shortmarket Club, the latest spot from acclaimed chef Luke Dale-Roberts (Test Kitchen).
From now until 30 September you can do lunch from Monday to Saturday for R360/R280 pp for three courses, including/excluding a carafe of wine.
The lunchtime menu will show off a selection of dishes by Chef Patron Wesley Randles with wines from the Swartland area. The dishes will vary but the price stays the same.

Try the special winter menus at Mondiall
Get serious bang for your buck at Mondiall in the V&A Waterfron this winter. Order two courses from the lunch or dinner menus for R185, and 3 courses for R225.
Lunch options include starters like mussels, squid with chorizo and garlic, and crisp pastry with aubergine and tomato; and mains like their Wagyu beef burger, BBQ banger & mash, and the risotto of the day. And for dessert you can try treats like steamed pudding with roast pear, and Tonka Bean cheesecake with butterscotch caramel.
If you’re joining for dinner, you can look forward to starters like Tandoori chicken kebabs, smoked pork belly with kimchi and apple puree, and gnocci with wild mushrooms, parmesan and roast cauliflower.
