Summer is the perfect excuse to go wild with colour. Think watermelon pink, sunflower yellow, a blue like the ocean on a warm day on the beach.

The colour-blocking trend has been going strong for a few years now and I think it is still a really fun way to brighten up your look, throwing bold, almost clashing shades together. Take a standard T-shirt and pair it with bright accessories. A statement necklace, a bold handbag, even just a popping colour on your lips. These days my favourite way of introducing colour is through bright sneakers – striking accessories can do all the hard work for you.

If you’re not into bright colour blocking, you can also combine pastels in a sort of toned-down version of the trend. I also love pairing a bold colour with a bright print. If you think that’s all a bit much, throw in a neutral shade like black, white or grey to mellow things out.

The point is to play. Express yourself. And be a little brave with colour. It’s way more fun than being monotone 😉

I am a lifestyle blogger from Cape Town trying to find the best ways to spend my time, take care of my body and express myself. I am slightly obsessed with fragrances, sneakers, Jamie Oliver and Masterchef Australia. Oh, and I probably drink way too much wine.
